Flex-NTM membrane technology |
The LifeASSURE filter cartridges dispose of the advanced FlexN
membrane technology of 3M. This allows unequalled flexibility in the
production of a multi zone membrane which offers a maximum in
backing capacity for pollutions with a very high backing rate.
The electron microscope photo on the right shows that the
single sheet
membrane passes LifeASSURE of an "open" zone on the admittance
side of the membrane and a "thicker" zone on the outlet side. The open
zone works like a prefilter and bigger particle and colloids hides, while
the thicker zone is responsible for the back position of small pollutions.
This multi zones structure makes 2 layer membranes superfluous and
offers with it a bigger surface area what leads to a substantially
increased backing capacity for pollutions and a longer life span.

The MaxMediaTM
Benefit |
Longer service life of the filter
A determining criterion for the efficiency and state time of a filter
cartridge is the filter surface. Nevertheless, any enlargement of the filter
surface without consideration of the drainage system between the folds
of the filter medium can lead to a deterioration of the flow and to an
untimely looking of the filter. By the development of the MaxMedia
construction one has succeeded 3M in realising a clearly enlarged filter
surface per cartridge.
The optimum cooperation of folded membrane
and supporting material leads to a clear improvement of the flow
qualities with at the same time raised state time per filter unity. This
use of the more than 50% bigger actual filter surface than by the filters
of the competitors (see accompanying diagramme) allows of the
LifeASSURE filter lower pressure drop, longer life span and lower
whole filtration costs.
